Exploring Viking shields.
On Friday 27th March 2015, Middleton hosted a matball tournament; The Middleton Matball Cup. Children from Southwold Primary School and Fernwood Federation travelled to Middleton to compete in the tournament. This is the first time the school host hosted a tournament for the cluster of schools, we hope that this will become an annual event. Each school entered two teams of seven children, from year five. The tournament was structured as a league with every team playing each other. Three pitches were set up so all children were competing at all times. 15 games were played within the space of an hour, games lasting six minutes each. Results were gathered and collated to give the tournament an exciting, competitive, atmosphere. All the children played very well; they were competitive yet gracious in both victory and defeat. Middleton secured both first and third position overall, Fernwood took second and fourth and Southwold took fifth and sixth. It was a fabulous event. The sun shone brightly and plenty of matball was played. It was clear that the children enjoyed competing against their peers from neighbouring schools. Bring on next year!
Classes 4M and 4A had a fantastic time during their trip to Ilam Hall in Derbyshire.
We have some new yellow guests at Middleton. Let’s meet them!
