A Beautiful End to a Splendid Football Season

A Beautiful End to a Splendid Football Season

Felicitations to our football players for their amazing season.
They won the annual Fernwood / Middleton Cup after a very tight game during which they showed a great deal of perseverance and team spirit. They finished runners-up at the Nottingham High School Football tournament last month. The team scored 10 goals and conceded none, reached the final where it drew 0-0. Unfortunately they lost on penalty shoot-out but our fans were delighted by the skills, team spirit and cohesion displayed by the children. And finally, in the League, Middleton ended the season one point behind the winner after some fantastic display of total football. A big thank you to Mr Nason and Jimmy for their help during the season and to Steve Bailey from Middleton Boulevard Co-op for his support.

RRSA Children Learn About Life inTogo

On 4 May the RRSA children were visited by Connor Scutts, a trainee teacher who works for the YMCA. Connor has recently returned from teaching in Togo. He talked about the differences in both home and school life, and showed pictures to the group of his time there. The RRSA group has established a partnership with the school in Lomé and we can’t wait to start sharing with our new friends there.
