Greek Theatre: Year 5 have been learning all about Ancient Greek theatre. We discovered that most plays were performed outdoors in a big amphitheatre; the actors used masks to show which characters they were. The faces were often exaggerated and the mouths cleverly made the actors voices louder.
We decided to tell the story of Odysseus and his meeting with Circe. Some of the characters were sailors who were turned into swine as a punishment. Our masks look amazing and we have been trying out different ways to tell the story.
This morning, choir had a great time recording the song ” If every child”. Next stop Abbey Road Studio?
In Year 4 we have been learning about the Russian artist Kandinsky. The children loved talking about his work and then creating their own artwork inspired by him. We love abstract art!
