Last month, eleven pupils travelled to China for the trip of a lifetime.
Students and staff really made the most of this wonderful opportunity and they truly experienced, at first hand, Chinese culture, education and lifestyle. They have now many wonderful memories, which will no doubt be treasured for years to come.
Their Chinese trip will not only be an unforgettable experience for the pupils and teachers because of all the magnificent places visited, but more importantly for all the people they met, their kindness and hospitality.
Pupils had the opportunity to visit major historical places such as Yu Garden and Zhujiajiao Ancient Town, the stunning Shanghai skyline and a memorable visit to the Shanghai Old Market where haggling skills were put to the test to see who could walk away with the best bargains. They were very good at it but Mrs Hearne was on another level.
In Ningbo, they spent some beautiful days with their Chinese friends, who lined up some memorable experiences for them, giving them a unique insight into their culture, leisure activities and school activities.
Through the home visit where they received an amazingly warm welcome, they also experienced family life.
Every day they ate in a different restaurant and the food was always superb and various.
The final highlight was a very sad but heart-warming assembly during which goodbye songs were shared and tears were shed.
Everyone is looking forward to the return visit from the Chinese students and staff in July.
Thank you China.
Our RRSA group proudly unveiled a mural based on children’s rights which they produced with some pupils from Bluecoat .
We were also pleased to welcome back Mary and Jonathan to present them with a gift for their invaluable contribution to RRSA whilst they were at Middleton.
