Welcome to Middleton Primary & Nursery School
Welcome to Middleton! We are very proud of our school community, particularly the strong sense of partnership that exists between children, staff, governors and parents/carers. Our aim is to provide the highest possible standards of education for every child, whilst ensuring they stay safe, enjoy their learning and develop positive attitudes to school. We are a happy, caring school where all children are encouraged to be active, independent learners. Middleton is proud to have been granted both the UNICEF Rights Respecting School Award and the International Schools Award. Together, these recognize the school’s underpinning ethos based on promoting inclusion, celebrating diversity and nurturing a caring, respectful attitude where everyone’s rights are recognised and valued.
The school was graded as ‘Good’ in its most recent Ofsted inspection, in November 2017. The report commented that: “Pupils are proud of their school. Older pupils speak eloquently about how they are supported to learn and how much they love the school… The pupils know their views will be heard in this school.” ( Please click on the blue RRSA logo to know more about our RRSA work)

What we’ve been up to…
Our Togolese friends sent us these pictures yesterday. With the money Middleton has gathered, they are on the process of building a school library and get an internet access. A big ” Thank You” from the pupils and their headteacher to all the Middleton parents and staff for their generosity. Merci beaucoup!
Last Friday 12 Year 5 and Year 6 girls took part in Girl’s Football Festival at David Ross Sports Village 3G Pitch at the University of Nottingham. It was an exciting event with lots of fun, football based skills games. The weather was perfect and the girls had a marvellous time trying different activities. Well done to all the girls involved!
On Monday our KS2 choir were fortunate to be able to take part in a vocal workshop, provided by Nottingham Music Service. The workshop was held in preparation for the Summer Sing concert at Nottingham Albert Hall, which we will be attending in June. The workshop was taught by Chris and Laura who were absolutely fantastic and the children thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon!
