Welcome to Middleton Primary & Nursery School

Welcome to Middleton! We are very proud of our school community, particularly the strong sense of partnership that exists between children, staff, governors and parents/carers. Our aim is to provide the highest possible standards of education for every child, whilst ensuring they stay safe, enjoy their learning and develop positive attitudes to school. We are a happy, caring school where all children are encouraged to be active, independent learners. Middleton is proud to have been granted both the UNICEF Rights Respecting School Award and the International Schools Award. Together, these recognize the school’s underpinning ethos based on promoting inclusion, celebrating diversity and nurturing a caring, respectful attitude where everyone’s rights are recognised and valued.

The school was graded as ‘Good’ in its most recent Ofsted inspection, in November 2017. The report commented RRSA-Level2-logothat: “Pupils are proud of their school. Older pupils speak eloquently about how they are supported to learn and how much they love the school… The pupils know their views will be heard in this school.” ( Please click on the blue RRSA logo to know more about our RRSA work)

This website has been designed to give you more information about our school and its achievements. Should you require any more information, please do not hesitate to contact us. We welcome any comments or suggestions you may have. Any information on this website is available to parents in a paper-version, on request from the school.

What we’ve been up to…

Young Voices Birmingham 2019

On Thursday, Mrs Freely, Mrs Need, Mrs Harne and Mrs Rick took 28 children from the Middleton School Choir to the Birmingham Resorts World Arena for Young Voices 2019. Over 6500 children joined together to create the world’s BIGGEST school choir. It was an absolutely incredible experience for adults and children alike and a privilege to have been able to be a part of something so special.
Stars including Beau Dermott ( a Britain’s Got Talent golden buzzer act), Sharlene Hector ( a singer/songwriter who has been part of Basement Jaxx) and Tony Hadley, the lead singer of Spandau Ballet also joined us. Meeting Tony Hadley was a particular highlight for the Teachers!
Mrs Freely would like to thank all of the children who took part n the concert for all their hard work over the last few months and also a huge thank you to the parents who were able to support us by coming along to the concert.
It was a night we will never forget and we cannot wait to see what next year brings!
Please check our video in our Videos page or on our YouTube Channel.

CHAMPIONS!

Well done to all of our cross country runners who competed in a 1.5km race at Wollaton Park this week. Despite the muddy and wet conditions, the children performed excellently! Our boys’ team came in first place and all left with a gold medal! Huge congratulations go to Oliver Jakubiak who finished first overall and to George Sinski who finished second. What a fantastic achievement!

Talent Show 2018

Our annual Middleton’s Talent Show took place on the last day of the last term of 2018.
The show is open to all the children and is designed to showcase all type of talents.
It may be that the children attend dance classes out of school, learn to play an instrument in their own time, just enjoy singing in the shower or even like to tell “Knock Knock” jokes.
This special event gives these children the opportunity to bring their talents into school and present them to the rest of their fellow pupils.
The 2018 show was full of talented pupils who showcased acrobatics, magic tricks, football skills, musical prowess.
