Amigos

At Middleton Primary School we are very proud of our links between different year groups.  Our Amigo system has been running for 4 years now; with classes in KS2 pairing up with classes in FS and KS1.  Each child has their very own Amigo who they visit for a short time every few weeks.  This is a valuable time when children can share work or read stories to each other or spend some time out on the field playing together or on the trim trail.  In the past we have even had Year 5 children visiting a Reception class to be guests at their class bears wedding!  Cards are made for their amigos at Christmas and the end of the year and some children remain friends outside of school too.

We feel that this kind of interaction prepares children for the wider world, encourages social and communication skills.  Most of all, the children have great time.
