What we’ve been up to…

Charity Week and Red Nose Day

Thanks to your generosity and the entrepreneurial skills of many of our children, we raised an amazing total of £1,316 for charity last week. On Friday, your donations for non-uniform day and cookies (thanks to Mrs Garton and her team in the kitchen for baking these) made £630 for Comic Relief. Earlier in the week, the stalls and games that children had organised for the entertainment of other year groups raised an incredible £686. The children had a great time both planning their own activities and getting involved with others. We really appreciate you sending money in to allow us to raise funds and help further embed the children’s understanding of charitable acts. Following suggestions from children and staff, we shared the money as follows:
• £250 to Water Aid
• £286 to Stonebridge City Farm
• £150 to the Nottingham Music Hub (match-funded by the Arts Council so effectively a £300 donation)

Art Celebration

Last year, we had a wonderful time celebrating a variety of art activities during a sunny afternoon.

The feedback that we received was overwhelmingly positive and we really appreciate your support.
Thank you very much again for your support!

Young Voices Birmingham 2019

On Thursday, Mrs Freely, Mrs Need, Mrs Harne and Mrs Rick took 28 children from the Middleton School Choir to the Birmingham Resorts World Arena for Young Voices 2019. Over 6500 children joined together to create the world’s BIGGEST school choir. It was an absolutely incredible experience for adults and children alike and a privilege to have been able to be a part of something so special.
Stars including Beau Dermott ( a Britain’s Got Talent golden buzzer act), Sharlene Hector ( a singer/songwriter who has been part of Basement Jaxx) and Tony Hadley, the lead singer of Spandau Ballet also joined us. Meeting Tony Hadley was a particular highlight for the Teachers!
Mrs Freely would like to thank all of the children who took part n the concert for all their hard work over the last few months and also a huge thank you to the parents who were able to support us by coming along to the concert.
It was a night we will never forget and we cannot wait to see what next year brings!
