Last month in Year 5, we studied Surrealism as part of our French Art Project. In surrealism, the subjects look like out their out of reality, in fact some surrealist artworks are inspired by the artist’s dreams. The movement made artists find beauty in the unexpected and the uncanny subjects. The world surrealist suggests beyond reality, it’s a combination of both realism and imagination too. After having looked at different artists of this period, the children made some collages and a surrealist box inspired by The Listening Room by Rene Magritte. What beautiful artworks!
At the Albert Hall on Monday 1st July some of our area band children played at The Summer Concert. They were lucky enough to have played with RHYO- Robin Hood youth Orchestra intermediate and The Djanogly Community Orchestra. Children played beautifully and the whole evening was an amazing success.
On Monday our KS2 choir were fortunate to be able to take part in a vocal workshop, provided by Nottingham Music Service. The workshop was held in preparation for the Summer Sing concert at Nottingham Albert Hall, which we will be attending in June. The workshop was taught by Chris and Laura who were absolutely fantastic and the children thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon!
Last year, we had a wonderful time celebrating a variety of art activities during a sunny afternoon.
The feedback that we received was overwhelmingly positive and we really appreciate your support.
Thank you very much again for your support!
Recently, our Year 4 children created a fantastic piece of Winter artwork under the guidance and expertise of an artist. We were so excited and proud to see this artwork on display, recently, at the Bramcote Lane Christmas Lights Switch on!
Last Thursday, Mrs Freely and Miss Need accompanied some of Middleton School Choir to sing at the Bramcote Lane Christmas Lights Switch on. It was a privilege to be invited, to develop links with the community and for our children to have the opportunity to show off their fantastic performing skills. We are all incredibly proud of how the children represented Middleton School. Well done Middleton!
