Have a look at our ” Super Grenouilles” ( our super frogs) who did an excellent job in French this term and last Tuesday they enjoyed French outside playing a running dictation game. Well done to all of them!
It is this time of the year when our pupils can enjoy the outdoor and run around while learning and discovering. This morning we had French outside and we loved every minute of it. We run four races and many different winners with perfect French.
In October 2018 Middleton hosted two French students for a week. Last month, Middleton hosted two German ones from Bilborough College. Our guests taught Y3, Y4 and Y5 classes and explained the German way of life and our pupils enjoyed asking questions and learning about German food, music, towns and school life. Next Month we will have two Spanish students doing the same activities in Spanish. Middleton is truly an international school.
On Thursday 8th November, Year 5 and Year 6 were invited to take part in the Games of Remembrance at Meadow Lane Stadium where the British Army played a friendly football game against the German Armed Forces. The event was very moving and our pupils behaved beautifully during the whole ceremony.
Our RRSA steering group children were invited to be involved in a special fundraising event to help our sister school in Togo. The students organising this event were inspired by our RRSA group’s workshop on Children’s Rights in December 2017 and as a result wanted to help promote RRSA in the University. The fundraising event took place at the University, where we helped to sell cakes, tombola tickets and distribute leaflets about UNICEF and our sister school in Togo. We were also given a tour of the university and had a competition to design a university .Thanks to our students we helped to raised £100.83 . We had a fantastic day and returned to school with treats provided by the students and their tutor Fiona Hunter.
Well done Year 1 and 2 for your amazing singing and instrument playing. We all had a fantastic time raising money for our sister school in Togo. A big thank you to Miss Need for helping us organise this fantastic event.
