At Middleton, we endeavour to integrate the values and work relating to our Unicef Rights Respecting Schools Award across the whole school. It helps develop pupils’ acceptance of difference and diversity, and provides them with a strong moral compass. Sharing the RRSA Unicef booklet with our pupils, their parents and carers at the start of the new academic year is a good way for us to share our vision.
Here are some more pictures of our residential trip at Fernwood. The children had so much fun.
Here are some photos of the Y6 children from Kingswood. Activities the children have enjoyed so far include archery, high ropes, the leap of faith, laser quest, nightline, orienteering… We are having so much fun!
Last week 12 pupils had a fun day out at the Tennis Centre. Mark Dennison ,from BBC Radio Nottingham, interviewed some of them. Here is the Podcast:
Our RRSA steering group children were invited to be involved in a special fundraising event to help our sister school in Togo. The students organising this event were inspired by our RRSA group’s workshop on Children’s Rights in December 2017 and as a result wanted to help promote RRSA in the University. The fundraising event took place at the University, where we helped to sell cakes, tombola tickets and distribute leaflets about UNICEF and our sister school in Togo. We were also given a tour of the university and had a competition to design a university .Thanks to our students we helped to raised £100.83 . We had a fantastic day and returned to school with treats provided by the students and their tutor Fiona Hunter.
