The Nottingham Local Health Schools Programme is led and delivered through a partnership between Nottingham City Public Health and Early Intervention. It’s aims are:

  • To support children and young people in developing healthy behaviours
  • To help to raise pupil achievement
  • To help to reduce health inequalities
  • To help to promote social inclusion
  • To support schools in becoming health-promoting environments
  • To contribute to relevant local health strategies as appropriate
Key objectives
  • To support City schools to achieve Local Healthy School Status (LHSS) (based on the national criteria)
  • To support City schools to implement the Health and Well-being Improvement Model (HWBIM)
  • To support schools and partner organisations to improve their planning, delivery and assessment of all aspects of PSHE/Life Skills
