Admissions & Handbook
Our Parent Handbook contains current information about the school. It is aimed at both prospective parents who wish to find out about the school and parents of children who are already with us as a reference point for key information.
If you wish to apply for a place for your child to join us, Nursery admissions are dealt with directly by us through our School Office whereas school places are managed by the Local Authority.
Nursery admissions
Our Nursery has a maximum of 39 places over each of the two daily sessions. Morning sessions run Monday to Friday from 8:40am until 11:40am and afternoon sessions from 12:35pm until 3:35pm, thus providing 15 hours of fully funded learning and play weekly. If places are available, children can start with us during the term after their third birthday. Children attend either 5 mornings or 5 afternoons a week to ensure continuity and help prepare them for regular school attendance.
Our current Nursery unit was purpose-built following a phase of school expansion, opening in its new location in 2019. We have a large, well-resourced main room with modern facilities and a wide range of interesting and engaging activities to stimulate children’s imagination and their diverse interests. In addition, we have a fabulous outside learning environment that is accessible all year round whatever the weather!
There are many advantages to using our school-based nursery:
- It is led by an experienced, qualified teacher who is supported by specialist early years teaching assistants.
- Our teaching and the resources and activities on offer enable the children to develop the skills and knowledge needed to prepare them for school.
- It is housed in a spacious, modern facility adjacent to our Reception classrooms, with a large and attractive outdoor learning and play area.
- It provides continuous education in one setting from 3-11 years for those who are successful in gaining a school place in the September following their child’s 4th birthday.

To apply for a place, application forms are available from the School Office or via this link: Nursery Application Form
We encourage parents/carers to arrange a visit to us before applying; contact the Office to arrange this and refer to our Parent Handbook for further details on admissions. Please be aware that attendance of our Nursery is not a criteria that is taken into account when it comes to applying for a school place in Reception.
School admissions
All admissions, other than Nursery, are the responsibility of Nottingham City Council (see link below). The window for applications for first admission into our Reception classes is between November and January in the academic year prior to their starting school. Any change of school applications during subsequent years, or applications from families new to the area, are also managed by the City Admissions Department.
We welcome visits at any time from prospective parents who wish to find out more about the school before applying; please contact the Office or Head Teacher to arrange this.
The admissions criteria, in line with Nottingham City Council's policy, can be found in our Parent Handbook (see link above).
The following website includes detailed information on the admissions process and links to online applications. The Admissions Department can be contacted by emailing schooladmissions@nottinghamcity.gov.uk or tel: 0115 841 5568.
