Children's Mental Health Week, 9th-13th February
We had a whole school focus during this week to deepen children’s understanding about how to look after their own mental health. We revisited this topic at the start of the year when we spoke about new year’s resolutions being huge steps that can result in disappointment if they are not upheld and discussed having a daily or weekly focus as a more achievable, manageable way of making positive changes.
After an assembly to launch the week, there were a range of activities in classes to raise awareness of the importance of everyone’s mental health needs and we ran wellbeing sessions during lunchtimes. These included yoga, loom band making and designing wellbeing shields.
