International Schools Award
We were delighted to welcome Lilian Greenwood, MP for Nottingham South, into school to hear about our reaccreditation of the International Schools Award for 2022-25. The group of children pictured below spent time talking with Lilian about some of the international aspects that run through our curriculum and our wider school activities. They also spoke about what being a Rights Respecting School means to them. Lilian spoke briefly too about the role of an MP which was really interesting for the children to hear.
The letter that we received from the British Council to confirm our reaccreditation was very complimentary. It noted “a strong body of evidence to show your commitment to the ISA programme” and commented favourably on many of the international themes that Mr Lantelme has initiated at Middleton, including our links with schools in France, Togo and Pakistan. The letter concluded: “To return to Article 29 [of the UNCRC], which declares that ‘children’s education should help them develop their personalities, talents and abilities’, this application shows with great clarity that Middleton in doing just that. Congratulations to all!”
