School milk and fruit

School milk

Milk is available through Cool Milk to children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. If you choose to opt into this scheme, your child will receive a 189ml carton of semi-skimmed milk daily to drink at mid-morning. This is free of charge for all children up to the age of 5. After that, there is a small daily cost payable in advance for the following term (or you can pay for a full academic year).

If you would like your child to have milk at school, register online at:

www.coolmilk.com

Once you have registered, you will be able to place an order. Please ask the office if you have any queries or need help with this process. If you are in receipt of benefits that qualify your child for free school meals, your child will also be entitled to free milk.

Fruit and snacks

For children in Reception and Key Stage 1, fruit is provided daily, free-of-charge, through the Healthy Schools Scheme. Key Stage 2 children may also bring fresh or dry fruit to eat during breaktime. In line with our healthy schools policy, no other snacks should be brought into school (unless by prior agreement with school staff).

We also have a policy of children not bringing in any food items (cakes, sweets, chocolates etc) to share out on occasions such as birthdays. This is in keeping with our healthy eating policy and to avoid any risk for children who have allergies or specific dietary needs.
